The Learning Commons has scheduled three student technology workshops for the 2004 Fall semester. Part of a series of Getting Started workshops, each will cover the basics of a single topic (PowerPoint, digital graphics, and web authoring). Each workshop is designed to be a first step in learning about the topic or as a refresher course.
All workshops will be held in Carnegie 105 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Registration is not required, but seating is limited and will be on a first come, first serve basis.
This workshop will provide a basic overview of the fundamentals necessary to produce a basic PowerPoint presentation. Topics will include inserting text and images, planning effective design, and creating and saving presentations. The workshop is designed as a first step in learning about PowerPoint or as a refresher course.
This workshop covers the basics of creating an image and editing it for use on the web or in a printed project. Topics covered will include using Fireworks to crop, resize, sharpen, and optimize images. The workshop is designed as a first step in learning about digital graphics or as a refresher course.
The goal of the workshop is to present an introductory overview of Dreamweaver and other web authoring tools. Topics will include basic page formatting techniques, developing individual pages into simple web site, and adding graphics to web pages. The workshop is designed as a first step in learning about web authoring or as a refresher course.
