Watermarking and Fingerprinting Images
Luke Boger offers some preliminary research on the digital fingerprint/watermark thing:
Here are some sites on the web that I've found so far. There is freeware on some of these, but they are mostly just in demo mode. For example, the first one (FBI Software) allows you to do the fingerprinting, but it keeps an FBI logo on it as well. Anyway, you might wan to check it out.
Of course, an option to these more compplicated things is just to mark each image with an Allgheny identification mark. That's easy to do, with simple programs. Tell me what you think.
Key Sites
- FBI Software More information is available on Highwater's unique fingerprinting technology,
- Poseidon
(actually speaks of watermarks in particular; also has downloadable Watermarking Demo)
- Richterscale
This includes an article from last year on digital watermarks, and also has two links to sites for digital watermarks,
- DICE Company
- Digimarc A program that is bundled with our Adobe Photoshop 4.0 software, although a fee must be paid to activate it.
