     H-NET:   HUMANITIES & SOCIAL SCIENCES ON-LINE

    =======================================================
    The 63 H-Net lists added 4,400 new subscribers over the summer,
    bringing our total roster in October, 1996, to 47,200
    subscriptions (representing about 33,000 different people).
    Eighteen lists now have passed the 1,000 mark. Although we are
    not yet four years old, we already reach about 30% of all
    history professors in the US, Canada and Australia, plus 69
    other countries, plus many scholars in other disciplines,
    plus about 15,000 graduate students.

    Note that H-Net lists are peripatetic: we are moving them to
    our own machine at Michigan State with address
    LISTSERV@h-net.msu.edu, but the process is not complete.
    If you have any trouble subscribing, please email to
    H-NET@h-net.msu.edu
    or FAX:   (517) 355-8363
    or Phone: (517) 355-9300

    thanks for your support!
