Art 110: Computer Quiz Survey Results

The questions were administered at the end of Fall Semester, 1998. The first quiz was required but later quizzes were optional. Because of problems in making this software available in public labs, students were not always able to send me their results, and so the quizzes were for student use only.

1. Did you use the On-line Quizzes?

Yes: 13 No: 5 (Class enrollment was 20)

2. If Yes, how often?

13 answers ranged from a few times, before the midterms, before all tests.

3. How useful did you find the quizzes, on a scale of 1-5?

0 answered 1, "Not at all"
2 answered 2, "a little bit useful"
5 answered 3, "Moderately useful"
3 answered 4, "pretty useful"
3 answered 5, "Extremely useful"

Under "Other comments?" students wrote the following:

After I looked at the book, I then looked at the quizes as a reflection of what I knew and didn't know. this would then prompt me to study tons more! They helped!
Definitely a good idea - I like the pictures
Most of the time I didn't have the time to take the quizes. Probably would have been more helpful if they were real quizes (graded).
Useful, should be worth extra credit
The questions weren't the same as on tests, so maybe identify style, etc would be more helpful.
