- Assignment 3: Career Possibilities with Various Majors
- Due by the week of November 27th. Must complete in order to
register
- As you decide what major to declare at the end of your fourth
semester, begin to think about the possibilities of careers and
continuing education after you are finished at Allegheny
College. Specific guidelines for your essay will be decided upon
in consultation with the professor during your first meeting, and
depending on where you are with your career plans. Must complete
in order to register
By the end of your sophomore year, in order to register as a Junior,
you must declare a major and a minor. In order to do this, you must
submit an official Change of Advisor. These forms are available
in the Registrar's office. Your new advisor should be somebody in the
department of your major. (But your advisor is not necessarily the professor
you will have as a senior project director.) Please ask the professor
first. Usually profs are happy to act as advisors, but some might have
reached their limit and be unable to take you on at this time.
You don't have to declare your major yet, but it's something you might
be thinking about. In your registration meeting, we can discuss various
advising possibilities for you.
PLEASE NOTE:
You do NOT need to declare a major or minor until after you have
completed 60 credit hours. Consider choosing an advisor with whom
you can communicate, or whom you see regularly in some context.
After you have accumulated 75 credits, you must choose a major before you will be allowed to register.
